Post-Con Thoughts: Fan Expo 2015

And so Fan Expo 2015 comes to an end. In years past as an attendee I've felt what some of my friends have come to identify as "Post-Con-Depression", that period of 24 hours after attending a convention where you just feel really bummed out that it's over, its gone for another year and it's back to your regular mundane routine.

I can safely say that this year however this is not the case. When I exited the final set of doors at Fan Expo today I felt something different. I felt a sense of completion. Like what I had been doing for the last four days mattered. I had so much positive feedback when I was pitching the plot of Q-16 and the Eye to All Worlds to people that it was incredible. This is no longer just something I came up with. It's something people after having heard about it felt the need to come back to my table and chat, pick up a copy. Tell me that they can't wait for the next part.

I guess I'm here just to say thank you to all of the people who came out this weekend and stopped by. Be it old faces or new. And to all of those who couldn't make it but at some point in my life were there. Either giving me advice or simply had a kind word to offer. These things matter to an author and sometimes it's actually hard to find the words to say exactly how much.

Needless to say I rebooked my table this morning. I will be back again next year. If not with the next novel in the Q-16 series then at least an excerpt from it.

I guess that's it for now. Thanks again to everyone and for those interested I will be at SFContario in November in Toronto. See you there and in the meantime keep it awesome!
